Mission Statement
The Bombers were formed to participate in a competitive Junior League located in
the Western United States. The Bombers were established to give the 15-20 year old players in the Western US an opportunity to participate in a high level hockey league with opportunities for college exposure without having to travel to the Midwest or East Coast.
Team History
The Bombers, were one of the founding teams in the WSHL and have participated in every season since 1995-1996 first season. The Bombers, have many alumni who have participated in both the USHL, NAHL, as well as Division I, III NCAA College Hockey. The Bombers are lead by team President Ron White who serves on the USA Hockey Junior Council and is past District Coach in Chief for USA Hockey / Pacific District. Team Vice President and General Manager, Gary Hendricks has been with the team for 7 years. The Bombers have been involved in the WSHL playoffs 10 of the 12 seasons played. The Bombers occupy their own private locker room, broadcast games on the internet, as well as provide “real time” scoring via Pointstreak for all games. The Bombers practice 3-4 days per week, usually play 2 games per weekend, and include such staff members as USA Hockey Certified Coaches, Certified Athletic Trainer, equipment manager, promotions manager, college placement liaison. The Bombers have graduated dozens of players into the NCAA College Ranks.
The Bombers spent 12 years as a Jr. B team and in 2007-2008 season were approved to elevate their
competitive status to Jr. ‘A’ – Tier III. Under the new format of Tier III—Jr. A, maximum tuition is $6500 which covers all on ice, off ice training, games, travel, all team outer wear, helmets, stick allowance, etc. When compared to Midget Tier I costs, it compares to a 50% or more savings over playing Midget Tier I hockey.
Arena Info
The Jr. Bombers practice and play home games at the Glacial Garden Skating Arena. Located in Lakewood, California, Glacial Garden is a premium skating facility that boasts three sheets of ice and a full range of amenities.
