Bombers Soar Into Second Weekend of WSHL Play

The Long Beach Bombers head into action this weekend with a pair of Divisional games.  Friday, the Bombers travel north to face the Pacific Division-leading Valencia Flyers (3-1-0-1, 7pts), at the Ice Station at 7:15pm.  In their last meeting, the Bombers held serve on home court with a 10-4 victory.   The attack was lead by newcomer linemates Jakub Sramek (3G-3A) and Nikita Korotkov (2G-2A).  Veteran defenseman, Stephen White, also factored into the scoring barrage (2G-3A) to continue his production from the 2011-2012 season.  Goaltender Jiri Sykora earned his first career victory in as many starts.

Saturday, the Bombers will return home to face the Ontario Avalanche (3-2, 6pts) at 7:40pm at Glacial Garden Skating Arena.

This weekend will mark the return of two Bombers veteran forwards – Johnny Linehan and JT Banard.  Last season, the two combined for 42 points in a combined 44 games played.  Linehan, Co-Captain, will be leaned on in all situations for the Bombers.  Banard will fill a hard-working playmaker role, and add much-desired depth to the Bombers’ forward group.
