Long Beach California Jr. A Pipeline Continues

Reading, Pa. (July 15, 2012) - The summer continues to heat up for the Crusader Ice Hockey team with the addition of more west coast hockey talent.  Alvernia welcomes Billy Borrmann (Lakewood, Ca./Somerset), who played his last two seasons as the captain of the Long Beach Bombers Jr. A program based in Los Angelos County.

Borrmann, a 2010 graduate of Somerset High School resides in Lakewood, California.  Playing his final season in the WSHL (Western States Hockey League) for the Long Beach Bombers, a Jr. A Tier III level hockey conference.  Playing in 30 games, Borrmann totaled 28 points with a well-balanced 14 goals and 14 assists.  He contributed three power play tallies and one short handed goal.  A spirited physical player, Borrmann totaled 101 penalty minutes.

He will begin his collegiate career in the Fall 2012 and will study Athletic Training.

Bombers Head Coach Chris White:  ”In addition to Billy Borrmann – Alvernia University, the Long Beach Bombers are also extremely proud to announce the following 2011-2012 Bombers Alumni college hockey commitments:  Brian White – Curry College, Sal Tecci – Worcester State University, Justin Hopkinson – Mercyhurst College, Tim Linehan – University of California Berkeley, & Johnny Linehan – University of California Berkeley.  Each of these players earned their way to the next level through on/off-ice dedication & performance, while balancing their hockey/academic careers.  Our organizational goal is to provide a platform for players to take the next step to NCAA athletics.  These players have shown that the WSHL and, specifically, the Long Beach Bombers are indeed a great stepping stone to college hockey.”
